Walvis Bay has a very unique location with a bustling harbour, the only deep-sea port on the West Coast of Southern Africa. On the one side is the tranquility of the lagoon, on the other the isolation of the Namib Desert.
Walvis Bay Harbour
Walvis Bay was discovered by Bartholomeu Diaz in 1487. Over the years, the harbour has been used by a variety of commercial interests, from guano diggers to diamond mines.
